Written in 2001
In the blackened folds of darkening night,
The skies unfurl their dreamy lights,
That sing to all an unheard song,
In perfect joy, from dusk ‘til dawn.
The cool, crisp air, so smooth and still,
In hues of dew, shall stay until
The scent of daylight held aloft
Will ride a breeze both sweet and soft.
All sounds of night my ears to greet,
As crickets sing the dreamer’s suite,
‘Til dark shall gray in the sight of morn,
Another day will soon be born.
Light now paints horizon lines,
And every dip and hill defines
As all at rest begin to wake;
A chance to rise, a chance to take.
